Συμμετοχή Φρεγάτας ΚΑΝΑΡΗΣ σε επιχείρηση έρευνας και διάσωσης

Ανακοινώνεται ότι βραδινές ώρες Παρασκευής 09 Φεβρουαρίου 2024, η Φρεγάτα (Φ/Γ) ΚΑΝΑΡΗΣ, ευρισκόμενη στη θαλάσσια περιοχή νότια ν .Γαύδου, στο πλαίσιο διεθνούς άσκησης διμερούς συνεργασίας του ΓΕΕΘΑ και μετά από αίτημα του Ενιαίου Κέντρου Συντονισμού Έρευνας και Διάσωσης (ΕΚΣΕΔ) του Αρχηγείου Λιμενικού Σώματος – Ελληνικής Ακτοφυλακής (Λ.Σ.-ΕΛ.ΑΚΤ.) συμμετείχε σε επιχείρηση Έρευνας και Διάσωσης, όπου εντόπισε ακυβέρνητη λέμβο με αριθμό αλλοδαπών επιβαινόντων, 46 ναυτικά μίλια νότια νήσου Κρήτης.

Περί την 09:00 του Σαββάτου 10 Φεβρουαρίου 2024, ολοκληρώθηκε η μετεπιβίβαση 72 ατόμων (58 άνδρες και 14 ανήλικοι) επί της Φ/Γ ΚΑΝΑΡΗΣ. Στη συνέχεια το πλοίο του Πολεμικού Ναυτικού μετέφερε τους διασωθέντες στον όρμο των Καλών Λιμένων, όπου με τη συνδρομή ναυαγοσωστικού σκάφους Λ.Σ.-ΕΛ.ΑΚΤ. πραγματοποιήθηκε η ασφαλής αποβίβασή τους και εν συνεχεία η μεταφορά τους στο λιμάνι του Ηρακλείου.
